During a cat show the cats are being judged to win the title in their category. The cats are compared to a breed standard and the one closest to the breed standard wins a prize. The winner in his category is also awarded points and at the end of the year all points gathered at various shows are added up and additional regional and national titles are awarded. Both pedigreed and companion (or moggy) cats are admissible, although the rules differ from organization to organization.
Some of these cat shows (especially TICA shows) also show the Toyger breed.
